Lagunillas Ski Resort
This resort is 67 kilometres from Santiago and 17 kilometres south west of San José de Maipo, a little town on the road to the resort.
Lagunillas is an old winter sports resort offering a variety of winter sports such as ski touring, snowboarding and off-piste skiing. It has a real family atmosphere with modest facilities, although there are plans to improve these. It is administered by the Club Andino, and has ski fields covering 200 hectares. There are 13 pistes of varying degrees of difficulty, the most popular being Novicios, Pancho and La Lola, with lengths between 350 and 1,100m. You can also go night skiing.
The resort has qualified instructors both for beginners who are just learning to ski and for those who know how to ski and want to improve their technique. You can hire skis, snowboards and other equipment and accessories in the Club Andino hire shop at the entrance to the pistes.
In winter chains are required to drive up to the resort. There is food and lodging available at the centre. However there is no official public transport.
