Francisco Black Lagoon
This is located 210 kilometres northeast of Copiapó, at an altitude of 4 126 metres in the National Park Nevado Tres Cruces.
It is a basin that covers a surface area of 880 km2 and its source is a small creek called Astaburuaga. Two areas are distinguishable according to their levels of salinity.
There are lots of flamingos, vicuñas, guanacos, taguas and wild ducks. In terms of flora, it corresponds to typical Andean vegetation with its characteristic lowland meadows and wetlands.
