Attractions around Temuco
Agroturismo Estero Cobulto
This agro-tourism facility is 32 km east of Temuco, on the paved road to Cunco. Here you will find comfortable camping facilities: each site has an area of approximately fifty square meters, with electricity and water laid on; there are roofed tables, fireplaces, bathrooms with hot water and a swimming pool. In addition there are sports areas including a football pitch and a volleyball court as well as a children’s play area etc. You can also savor the German style teas (onces) prepared by the owner of the hostel.
Located in Fundo La Rinconada, only 4 km from Freire, on the road to Teodoro Schmidt, this is a big farmhouse built in 1942. You can participate in the typical activities of the countryside, and the board and lodging are also typical of country hospitality. The farmhouse has a terrace, two reading rooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen and bedrooms for up to sixteen people with shared or private bathroom. Activities on offer include walks in the forest, a visit to the dairy, milking the cows, collecting the eggs, etc. The farm is on the banks of the Río Toltén, so visitors can also fish.
Centro de Ecoturismo La Baita-Conguillio
La Baita is 18 km from the town of Melipeuco, on the road leading to the Parque Nacional Conguillio. It nestles at the foot of a mountain in marvelous natural environment, and offers a program for a minimum six persons, maximum ten, which consists of an excursion to the Laguna Verde where you can enjoy a refreshing swim and a picnic. The cost includes the entry into the Parque Nacional Conguillio, but not transport.
In this typical Mapuche hut, the visitor will be introduced to Mapuche customs through cultural expressions. Here you can share something of the history of the family who are your hosts. The activities in which you can participate include handicraft production in clay and Mapuche silver-work. These handicrafts are also on sale.
It is located in Padre Las Casas, on the road to Huichahue at kilometer 10, where you must turn off towards Trumpulo Chico (signed as Puente Momberg). The ruca is 3 km down the gravel road.
Fundo San Pablo
This farm is 49 km east of Temuco, on the paved road to Cunco, and the entrance is signed. There are tourist activities associated with farm jobs to do with the dairy, crops, the greenhouse, nurseries and the chickens, as well as excursions on horseback. There are huts, campsites, picnic areas, a kitchen and a swimming pool.
5 km from Los Laureles on the road to Lago Colico, and 55 minutes from Temuco. There is a hotel, convention center, heated swimming pool, huts and campsite on the banks of the Río Curaco. Bicycles and horses are available for hire. You can also go to see the milking, the deer and the chicken run. There are walking trails and monitors to guide activities.
Located in the Mapuche Community of Antonio Weche, 15 km from Temuco on a secondary road leading from Temuco to Cunco. Here you can learn about the beliefs and customs of the Mapuche by sharing the life of families in the community. Visitors learn about ancestral experiences, typical food, handicrafts, working the loom, spinning and weaving.
