Alacalufe National Reserve
The reserve covers a surface area of approximately 2,320,000 hectares with scenery noted for low mountainous islands, channels and fiords. The climate is a moderately cold tundra type, with a high level of precipitation.
There are distinct species of plant life such as grasses, bushes, coigües and peat. It has a large quantity of birds and mammals.
This park is not visited much due to the difficulties posed by access, as well as its climatic and geographical characteristics. Moreover, it is far from any populated areas.
The only way to access it is by sea from Puerto Natales, booking a tour with an agency, as there are no regular scheduled trips.
